A Jefferson County grand jury indicted one of three Louisville police officers involved in the police shooting of Breonna Taylor on March 13 of this year. Taylor, 26, was fatally shot when police exchanged fire with her boyfriend during a no-knock search of her apartment.

One Louisville officer, Brett Hankinson, was indicted on three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. The other two officers, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Det. Myles Cosgrove, were not indicted.

  1. Ms Taylor would be alive today if she had not been sleeping/associating with her boyfriend, Watkins a known drug dealer with an outstanding warrant and the purpose of the raid. Not to mention, of course, Watkins was illegally in possession of a weapon and opened fire at the police who rightfully returned fire; Ms Taylor was caught in the crossfire, a tragedy indeed but the result of her life’s choosing and ultimately her responsibility; the police were just doing their job. Ms Taylor put herself daily in the position of possibly being gunned down by one of Watkin’s drug dealers or clients. Her choice – her responsibility; don’t put the blame on the police for doing their job!! Again – if Watkin’s had not opened fire, with his illegal weapon, police would not have reason to return fire = Ms Taylor would be alive today (quite possibly in prison for harboring a fugitive and/or a drug-dealing accomplice); her death is the result of her actions and those of Watkin’s; if you insist on blaming someone, put the blame where it belongs!!
And the black/white composition of the Grand Jury was what???
